Bernardo Fernández, alias "Bef", es novelista, dibujante de cómics y diseñador gráfico por la Universidad Iberoamericana. Con un par de premios nacionales e internacionales, su obra narrativa se ha traducido a cinco idiomas y su gráfica se ha exhibido en exposiciones colectivas en México, los Estados Unidos y Francia así como en una exposición individual en el Museo Carrillo Gil de la ciudad de México. Actualmente divide su tiempo entre la narrativa, la gráfica y el taekwondó.
Bernardo Fernández, also known as "Bef," is a novelist, a comic book artist and a graphic designer with a degree from the Universidad Iberoamericana. He has received a couple of national and international awards, his narrative work has been translated into five languages and his graphic work has been exhibited in group shows in Mexico, United States and France, as well as in a solo exhibit at the Museo Carrillo Gil in Mexico City. He presently divides his time between narrative work, graphic art and Taekwondo.

Háblame un poco de los últimos libros que has publicado.
Me muevo entre dos mundos, el literario y el de la narrativa gráfica o los cómics. Recientemente publiqué "Hielo negro", una novela negra que ganó el premio Grijalbo del año pasado y "La calavera de cristal", novela gráfica para niños jóvenes con guión de Juan Villoro e imágenes mías.
Tell me about the latest books you have published.
I move between two worlds, the literary and the one dedicated to graphic novels or comics. I recently published "Hielo negro," a noir novel that won the Grijalbo award last year and "La calavera de cristal," a graphic novel for young children with a script by Juan Villoro and my images.
¿Has publicado en formato electrónico?
En muchas ocasiones, la más reciente fue un artículo sobre literatura de terror en la "Revista Digital Universitaria" de la UNAM y de la que más orgulloso me siento es el cuento "Las Últimas Horas De Los Últimos Días" que traduje para "Flurb", revista digital de ciencia ficción dirigida por Rudy Rucker, escritor al que admiro desde adolescente. El dato curioso es que la versión en inglés y español tienen finales distintos.
Have you published in electronic format?
In many occasions, the most recent one was an article about horror literature in the "Revista Digital Universitaria" of the UNAM and the one I am most proud of is the short story "The Last Hours of The Final Days" that I translated for "Flurb," a science fiction digital magazine directed by Rudy Rucker, a writer I have admired since I was an teenager. An interesting fact is that the English and Spanish versions have different endings.

El blog de Alberto Chimal siempre tiene algo interesante que ofrecer. Lo mismo sucede con el de Joserra Ortiz. Y "Hermano Cerdo".

En una novela policiaca sobre lavado de dinero que me tiene muy divertido. Llevo dos terceras partes escritas.
What are you working on now?
On a crime novel about money laundering that has me very entertained. I have two thirds of it written.
¿Cómo te gustaría que fueran las bibliotecas del futuro?
Me gustaría que fueran digitales y de acceso universal a toda la población.
How would you like future libraries to be?
I would like them to be digital and of free access for the entire world.
